Upcoming GEMS Events

Both GEMS-members and other colleagues with an interest in the early modern period, broadly understood, are invited to join these meetings and to participate in our discussions. 

Academic year 2022-2023

25 April (2pm): “Inspired by…” presentations where MA students discuss theories or works that have inspired their research. Followed by reception (5pm). Location: “Loveling” library lab of the faculty library (Rozier 44).

27 April (2-4pm): Lecture by Jessie Wei-Hsuan Chen (Utrecht University): Keeping Flowers Between the Pages: “Preserving” Rare and Curious Flowers through Florilegium Images in the Seventeenth Century. Location: “Magnel” library lab (Rozier 44). 

13 May (17:30-19:30): Lectura Dantis 2023: tra versi e musica. Musical performance (in Italian) of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, organized by Teodoro Katinis, with Fabio Busotti (actor), Sara Salvérius (musician) and Wouter Vandenabeele (musician). Location: Boekentoren (Belvedère).
