Elizabeth Amann

Elizabeth Amann received her PhD (with Distinction) from Columbia University in 2000. Before moving to Belgium in 2009, she taught as an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago and Yale University and as an Associate Professor at Columbia University. She is the author of Importing Madame Bovary: The Politics of Adultery (Palgrave Macmillan, 2006) and Dandyism in the Age of Revolution: The Art of the Cut (University of Chicago Press, 2015) as well as a number of articles, including various studies of Golden Spanish poetry (Garcilaso de la Vega and Góngora). Currently, she co-directs Maxim Rigaux’s PhD thesis on the representation of the Battle of Lepanto in Golden Age epic poetry.
