Steven Vanden Broecke

Steven vanden Broecke teaches early modern intellectual history and history of science at Ghent University (Department of History, senior lecturer). He has published on early modern cosmography, astronomy, astrology, and philosophy of mathematics. These interests are currently being expanded in the direction of cultural history through a stronger focus on issues of possession and embodiment. As a naïve but stubborn defender of historical grand narrative, his interests range from antiquity to the early 19th century, and from meaning to technical reason.
